Sec my telegram No. 207 Hong Kong proposal to which you
refer was superseded by arrangements made with Mr. Leslier
last February.
Following telegram received from Hong Kong Committee
by Shanghai Committee.
*Our Committee quite agree with February arrangement
and have made no proposals for substitution for Chenpao
of daily paper or to remove South China from your
Committee. Scheme for daily paper was abandoned some time ago".
Position therefore reverts to that described in my
telegram No. 207 and my recommendations therein hold
good. I presume replies are no longer required to
points in final paragraph of your telegram No.250.
In my despatch No. 223 of May 17th text of arrangement
come to between Hong Kong Committee and Er. Leslie went
to you.
